The Carolina Eagles USPHL Elite team and USP3HL teams have both started the season 6-0 and are the only teams in the USPHL Elite and USP3HL Divisions that are undefeated.  The Eagles started the season at home against the Richmond Generals.  The USP3HL team came out of the gate strong to win the home opener 5-2 with Verners Fricbergs getting two goals and Zac Horn adding a goal and an assist.  Jared Stahel got the start and was solid in net.  The Elite team had a game that was a bit of a see saw with the lead changing four times before the Eagles could close the door winning 5-4 with 18 seconds left in the game as Justin Hall took a pass from Jake Raleigh and Swedish born Joakim Bolinder and deposited it in the net behind the Richmond goaltender.

Sunday was game two vs. the Generals and the outcomes were the same with the USP3HL team winning 4-3 and Elite winning 5-4 after having to come back in the third from a 4-1 deficit.

Both teams then traveled on Monday to Marlborough for the USPHL Fall Southern Showcase.  Both the USP3HL team and Elite team each swept their four games in the showcase.  The USP3HL team beat the Florida Eels in the first game 3-1 and followed that up by beating the very tough Islanders Hockey Club 4-3.  They then faced off against the Springfield Pic’s winning 7-4 and finished the sweep against the Junior Bruins 4-1.

The Elite team started the showcase against the very tough and talented Charlotte Rush in a great hockey game.  The Eagles Elite won the game in overtime 3-2.  They then went on to play Palm Beach and once again coming back from a 4-1 deficit to score four unanswered goals to win 5-4.  They then faced the Tampa Bay Juniors winning that game 3-1 and finally playing the last game of the showcase against last seasons USPHL Elite finalist the Florida Eels.  Once again the Eagles were down 1-0 going into the final period and scoring four unanswered goals to win 4-1.

Playing very well for the Eagles USP3HL Team is veteran Defenseman Parker Jones, and veteran Forwards Zac Horn, with 11 points in 6 games, Verners Fricbergs with 10 points in 5 games, Jacob Bowers with 4 points in 6 games.  Rookies are led by Connor McCreedy with 9 points in 6 games.  Goaltenders Eric Daniel and Justin Faiella have shut the door when needed.

On the Eagles Elite team veteran Goaltender Brandon Brown has a Goals Against Average of 1.75 and a save percentage of .915 has been huge in net for the Eagles.  Rookie Elite Goaltender Jared Stahel also kept the Eagles in the game vs. the Florida Eels, stopping three breakaways before the Eagles got on track.  Also playing tremendous are veteran Justin Hall and rookie Joakim Bolinder who leads the team with 6 points in 5 games.  Veteran Defenseman Brandon Halvorsen has put up 5 points in 6 games and Rookie '99 birth year forward Kyle Conover has put up 4 points including a game winning assist in 4 games.  Returner Tyler Besner has put up 4 points in 6 games and Defenseman Ian Houk-Graves has 4 points in 6 games.

After an off weekend, the Eagles will now head to Hampton Roads for the Piedmont College Showcase scheduled Sep 30-Oct 2.
